Darren had spotted a good spot at which a few broadsides could be taken
The steamer wasn't out and about by itself, it had one of the normal West Coast Express locomotives right behind it.
It would have been nice if some of the gaps were a bit larger so the rest of the train could also be captured
I suppose that going away shots are permitted when steam is included in the consist
The 2816 pulls into Mission, where it will turn around
Well... another shot in which a lot got trimmed off. Current suspect is the camera, rather than the finger.
There was a little bit of a gap, but it wasn't really big enough even for just the locomotive.
I was more concentrating on shooting the locomotive than this car on the rear of the train, so I didn't get the focus adjusted quite right.
Here a bit of the tender is blocked, but everything else is fairly clear.
Both ends of the train in one shot with a bit of each end cut off.
Finally the locomotive rounds the bend and breaks clear from behind the trees.
The locomotives keep moving towards the pedestrian overpass on which I'm standing.
It wasn't intended to be so but this turned out as a shot of the secondary tender as the rest of the photo got cut off due to camera problems.
The 2816 now becomes visible on the other side of the overpass.
Getting closer to being ready to depart for Port Coquitlam
I played a bit with the zoom as the steamer moved somewhat farther away, but didn't get the focus quite right
