This isn't the first time I've shot this spot fairly early on in the day
The vertical-format shot turned out fairly decently this time.
These AC4400s on the rear are a nice change from midtrain units
I tried and tried, but nothing I could do was able to rid me of the lens flare in this spot.
A posed photo of the group (even Ryan this time) nearby Haig
One unposed snapshot to fill the roll
One of my goals for the day was to shoot more scenery, so I took one shot of the lake at Haig before the train arrived. If I had the zoom lens along I would have tried for a closeup on a bird on the lake, but remembering the last time I brought the 50mm lens instead.
Is it just me or are there a lot more ripples in the lake than last time?
What a surprise... another coal train
I made a point of also shooting a few of the coal cars as well
I stepped off the dock to grab some photos of the others. Who have we here? Could it be Ryan!??!
The dock was pretty crappy (literally) but Scooter somehow survived
Back to the dock to shoot the trailing locomotive
One final shot of the trailing locomotive
Borrowed a tripod and played with the camera's timer but the exposure wasn't right
Our lighting wasn't great, so I only shot this train at a spot a ways off, putting that 200mm zoom to some good use
